Trip To Sabah(2)

Unbelievable!!!!When you are charge MYR 12 for a taxi fare just for a 1 km trip. That what happen to us on our trip to Kota Kinabalu last April. We had earlier made the trip from KK Time Square to Centre Point which is about 1 - 2 km from our hotel via the hotel charter van. Unfortunately, the charter van did not came to us when we want to return back to the hotel.

Hariz enjoying his ride on the charter van.

We had plan to go to Kampung Nelayan where there is a water park when we arrive in Kota Kinabalu on the 29 but it was raining heavily on that day which force us to change our plan. Fortunately, the rain stop around 5pm and we decide to pay a visit to the Filipino Market nearby. The gift shop sold a lot of souvenir, bought some t-shirt for the family & a pet monkey for Hariz. The food there was really-really cheap & delicious. We had pick up some nice looking fish, shrimp, crab and squid. Take a look at the picture below. Those crab are BIG.

On the 2nd day, we had plan to go to Lok Kawi Wildlife Park which was about 20km from KK town. Having to search the internet through my ExpressMusic, there were no direct bus to the place. We had to take a taxi there. Having to look into the Sabah Tourism Board Website, we found out that the taxi fare are estimated around RM 25 - RM 30 per trip. We had our charter van drop us at Plaza Wawasan where there is a bus station & taxi stand. When ask, the taxi driver told us that he want RM80 for the trip&back. We was negotiating for RM 70(which we thought was already high) but the driver only agrees on RM 75. Another change plan had to be made. We decide to take the bus to Pantai Tanjung Aru which cost us about RM1.50 per person per trip(which is around 8 - 9 km from KK town). We had also learn from this trip that there is a bus to get from our hotel to Terminal 2 Air Asia KK which previously arrive we had taken a taxi for RM 30 to the hotel.

We were there till around 2pm. There were not many people there on the beach, maybe cause it was a working day there in KK. We took the same bus back to KK town and took another bus to 1Borneo(7-8 km from KK) where there are a couple of hotel & shopping mall there. The fare was the same.

Last day in Kota Kinabalu, our flight was at 12.30 noon. We had our breakfast at the hotel before taking the shutter van to the bus station.

Hariz's Toys

My father like to buy toys for Hariz. Unfortunately, my son like to take this advantage to 'pow' on his grandfather. This is the latest one that he eventually persuade my father to buy for him.

Cost about MYR 65.

He like stuff like this which he call kut-kut(bachoe). There a bunch of it at home. There's one behind him on the dumpster.
